We had a lovely week with her, trips to Charlies and VilleFrenche, long lazy lunches, a goodbye dinner was certainly in order.

All school lunches should include a bottle of wine |
The most important choice of the night, the wine. Jen and I shared a bottle of Parallele 45. A wonderful French wine and the hints of spice went very well with our roasted duck.
Since we had chosen to do the menu option we were in for another long dinner, but we like to live on the edge.
The appetizer was a tomato gazpacho with raspberry sorbet and a whipped buratta.
It may sound a bit strange, but the blend of the different temperatures as well as the sweet and savory was fantastic.
The main dish was roasted duck on a bed of risotto and cranberries. The cranberries made the dish, they added the perfect hint of tart. Be aware in France if you order meat they don't do anything more well done than medium as to not ruin the meat.
Giant Cranberries!! |
Dessert was three flavors of pudding; chocolate, vanilla and salted caramel. I say pudding because I am not 100% sure what it was but it was like more solidified pudding. Not to be confused with a snack pack.
And a cookie on top!
Cannes likes to provide all sorts of entertainment for its visitors and this summer they did a fireworks competition. So about once a week there was a huge fireworks show. After dinner we went down to watch, this week it was a French company, and they did an outstanding job! The music really made it!
Watch it here |
Cheers.
